Dr. Alexander Belyakov, a certified Sustainability Excellence Professional (SEP), has over 20 years of experience in sustainability and environmental governance. He has worked with international organizations, including the UN, managing projects and consulting on sustainability and peacebuilding. His academic contributions include developing and teaching Sustainability and ESG courses at institutions like Singapore Management University and Toronto Metropolitan University.
Alexander’s consultancy work spans UN DESA, FAO, UNEP, and UNDP, supporting biodiversity, transboundary cooperation, and conflict dynamics. As a founding member of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association, he promotes peacebuilding through environmental solutions. Growing up in Debaltseve, Ukraine—a conflict-affected region—he brings a unique perspective to sustainability in conflict zones.
