Roman Baiduk

Roman Baiduk was born on 10 March 1981 and from the age of five lived in Dnipropetrovsk, USSR (now Dnipro in Ukraine). After leaving grammar school in 1998 with a golden medal, Roman graduated magna cum laude as a Master of Law at Dnipro National University in 2003. Roman practised for several years.

In 2016 Roman won a full scholarship for a Master’s degree programme at the College of Europe and graduated as an M.A. in European Interdisciplinary Studies in 2017.

Roman became a state official as Head of the Department of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation of the Academy of Patrol Police in Kyiv in November 2017. He actively participates in civic life as a member of the Professional Government Association (an association of the Ukrainian alumni of western universities who returned to Ukraine and joined their efforts in order to facilitate democratic reforms).

Roman’s main academic interests are democracy studies, security studies, history and IR (especially of CEE). He has written several academic papers and participated in conferences. His personal hobbies are hiking, swimming and reading science fiction.
