Magdalena Rakovec currently works as a project manager at the Centre for European Perspective, a Slovenian governmental body that organises training courses, workshops, as well as conferences aimed at enhancing the European perspective. As she enjoys being active, she is currently working on several different projects. She is the project manager of the EUSAIR Communication Academy, a communication capacity-building programme for different stakeholders of EUSAIR (EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region).
She is also involved in the project “Strengthening societal resilience and countering foreign perpetrated disinformation in six Western Balkan countries” that brings together stakeholders working in the information environment in the Western Balkan countries at conferences. Besides that, she is also involved in the organisation and planning of the Bled Strategic Forum and Young Bled Strategic Forum.
Previously she worked as a project manager of the Bled Strategic Forum at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia. Prior to that, she studied international relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Ljubljana. During her studies, she was actively involved in the Model United Nations Club Slovenia, United Nations Youth Association of Slovenia and the organisation of the international youth conference Salient. She is finishing her MA thesis on the construction of the EU’s identity in relation to the enlargement process to the Western Balkans.
She loves living in Ljubljana, walking and cycling around the city, meeting up with friends and when possible she escapes to the mountains to go hiking.
