Kuros Ghaffari

Kuros Ghaffari is a press officer at the U.S. Department of State, responsible for outreach to traditional and digital media outlets. He previously worked in the department’s public diplomacy bureau, where he produced interactive content to communicate U.S. policies to a global audience.

Kuros began his career at the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Washington. He then moved to Berlin as a fellow of the Robert Bosch Foundation, with placements at the Alfred Herrhausen Society and the German Foreign Office. Having fallen in love with German culture and cuisine, he continued to work in Berlin as a communications consultant for a number of years.

Kuros holds a master’s degree in international affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of California, Los Angeles.
