Gunnar Berkemeier has been working at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York since October 2017, focusing on UN peace operations.

Previously, he worked as speechwriter in the Minister’s Office and in the Cabinet and Parliament Affairs Division of the Federal Foreign Office, at the German Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Permanent Mission of Germany to the UN in Geneva. He has also worked for the United Nations Development Programme and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
