Astrid Schmidt-King

Astrid Schmidt-King is an Executive in Residence at the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola University Maryland, where she teaches international business (IB) and IB law, law and the regulatory environment, as well as ethics and corporate social responsibility. She is the Director of the IB programme and chair of Building a Better World Through Business initiative.

Astrid practised immigration law and business compliance. In addition to her B.A., J.D. and LL.M., Astrid recently gained a hybrid M.A. from the Freie Universität Berlin, where she examined globalisation’s socioeconomic impact on developed democracies and the rise of right-wing populism.

She authored a chapter, “Foreign Law and Policy” in Law and Public Policy, participated in a Fulbright International Education Administrators Seminar (Germany) and the American Council on Germany’s immigration delegation in Berlin, was named a Presidential Fellow by the Association of International Education Administrators, and recently completed the Emerging and Developing Global Executive fellowship by the World Trade Center Institute.
