Dominik Balthasar is an international development expert with a decade of work experience (post-PhD) in research, policy, and practice.
Currently assisting KfW Development Bank in devising its engagement in conflict-affected countries, Dominik previously worked in diverse capacities on issues pertaining to state fragility and resilience. While having collaborated with different bi- and multilateral aid organisations such as former DfID, UNDP, and the World Bank in places such as Somalia, the DR Congo, and Timor-Leste, he contributed to the endeavors of think and do tanks in Europe, North America, and Africa.
Having been passionate about enhancing the evidence-base of policies and programming in international development, Dominik has recently been drawn into the field of strategic foresight, the potential of which he seeks to develop for rendering international development efforts fit for future.
