Maheen has worked as a journalist in her home country of Pakistan for many years, eventually beginning to question the role of populist politics and the future of democracy. Moreover, a byproduct of her line of work is the fact that she can probably be best described as a news junkie who can always be relied on to discuss shocking crime stories or obscure protests in other parts of the world.

Maheen has a Master’s degree in Political Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London, and is currently also enrolled in a Master’s program in Digital Journalism at HMKW University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.

Her love of words and a passion for politics is what drew her to communications-based diplomacy and brought her to the Global Diplomacy Lab, where she continues to hone her understanding of the need for dialogue to address current global conflicts and crises.
