Johanna Mansfeld

A student of International Relations at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve, Johanna has just joined the GDL Team as an intern for a period of five months. Before coming to Berlin, she spent a semester abroad in Salamanca, Spain, brushing up her Spanish skills and travelling the country. Prior to her studies in Kleve, Johanna worked as an assistant to the Vice Presidents at BASF in Berlin for three years. She was fascinated and inspired by the diverse and international working environment, and quickly gained an interest in people’s background stories and the political roots and consequences of these stories. This is what prompted her to embark on her studies in International Relations – a degree that allows her to combine her interests in the fields of international law, politics and economic relations.

In her free time, Johanna enjoys playing volleyball and table tennis, and exploring new cities and cuisines, as well as learning more about how to sustainably foster gender equality and women’s empowerment. She is excited to once again experience living and working in Berlin and is equally looking forward to the tasks and challenges involved in being part of the GDL Secretariat.
